COVID-19 alerts for two Grasslands schools

Dec 14, 2020 | 10:44 AM

Grasslands Public Schools has issued COVID-19 alerts for two of its schools.

The school division centred around Brooks posted on its website on Dec. 13 about the alerts for Griffin Park School in Brooks and Rosemary School.

A letter sent to the school community on Dec. 11 about the Griffin Park School case says the individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 was last in the school on Dec. 7.

“We are working closely with Alberta Health Services to ensure necessary measures are in place to protect all students and staff,” reads the letter. “From the AHS investigation to date, a number of close contacts have been identified and will be notified via an AHS close contact letter. Public Health and the school will work closely together to ensure accurate contact tracing. If you are not contacted by AHS, you and/or your children are not considered close contacts and no further action is required.”

As with previous letters from the division, families are being asked to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 using the Alberta Health Daily Checklist and to complete the checklist each day prior to attending school.

It also asks that if you or a member of your family has any of the symptoms of illness listed, that you fill out the online Alberta Health Services COVID-19 self-assessment or call Health Link at 811.

There are no details available regarding the Rosemary School case.
