City facilities impacted by new health rules today

New provincial health regulations mean changes for city facilities

Nov 27, 2020 | 7:23 AM

MEDICINE HAT — The city is suspending all group activities at the Family Leisure Centre, Kinplex, Hockey Hounds and Co-op Place arenas as of today.

The FLC remains open, but people need to pre-register for swimming and skating, and the gymnasium.

The fitness area will operate at 25 per cent capacity.

There will be additional times for public skating at the Kinplex, with pre-registration required.

The Hockey Hounds Rec centre and Co-op Place are closed, and the Moose Rec Centre remains closed for the season.

Performances and shows scheduled at the Esplanade theatre until December 15th have been postponed or cancelled — as a result of new provincial health orders.

The Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre, including guest services, the Museum, the Art Gallery and Archives, remain open to the public during regular business hours.

Numerous outdoor amenities will remain open to the public, including all parks, trails, toboggan hills and dog parks. Signs will be posted, reminding the public that outdoor social gatherings are limited to 10 people.

Updated information on Parks & Recreation Usage is available on the City website.
