Veiner Centre closing again following guidance and new health measures from province

Nov 25, 2020 | 2:55 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Veiner Centre will close on Thursday at 3 p.m. following the health measures introduced by the province yesterday.

“We have appreciated the opportunity to welcome seniors into the Veiner Centre over the last number of weeks,” said Aaron Nelson, manager of Community Connections and Support, says in a release. “In light of the enhanced public health measures, we will pivot our activity towards engaging with our members through social media, as well as an existing telephone campaign.”

All group activities have been discontinued effective immediately. Staff are available by phone at 403-529-8307 for members who may have questions regarding the closure.

The city is actively reviewing the new restrictions set forth by the Government of Alberta and the impacts they may have on city-run programs and facilities.

The Veiner Centre only reopened on Nov. 9 after being closed since March due to COVID-19.
