COVID-19: Province records new daily case record, woman in 20’s from South zone among one of the deaths

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The province of Alberta recorded 1,336 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, shattering the daily record number of cases for the second day in a row.

Nine new deaths were also confirmed. Two of the deaths were from the South Zone, including a woman in her 20’s pre-existing conditions

There are now 11, 274 active cases of COVID-19 across the province with 320 people in hospital and 56 in ICU.

There are 81 active cases in Medicine Hat , 114 recoveries and 2 deaths.

Cypress County has 44 active cases and 64 recoveries.

The City of Brooks has 40 active cases, 1205 recoveries and 12 deaths.

The City of Lethbridge has 165 active cases, 683 recoveries, and 7 deaths.

In a tweet, the province’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, urged Albertans to do their part to flatten the curve.

She also urged Albertans to not go to health care facilities unless care is needed.
