The Better Business Bureau serving southern Alberta says experts are predicting a 35 per cent rise in online shopping this year. Millenials and Gen Z are expected to lead the way, spending an average of more than $1,200.
With the rise in online shopping, shoppers should expect to see a rise in online scams as well, says the BBB. It’s offering safety tips to shop safe and smart, including research sites via an independent source, beware of fake websites and make sure the website is secure.
And remember, if the deal looks too good to be true, it probably is, says the BBB.
