County of Newell lifts fire restriction

COUNTY OF NEWELL, AB – The County of Newell is the latest area municipality to make a change to its fire orders.
In a release, the county says it has lifted the fire restriction and that fire guardians will now be able to issue new fire permits.
Fire permits can be obtained at the County of Newell office during normal business hours. All permit holders are required to contact their local fire department prior to lighting the fire and follow all recommendations and/or conditions of the permit. Failure to do so may result in fines.
The release notes the lifting of this fire restriction does not impact the city of Brooks, town of Bassano, villages of Duchess or Rosemary, provincial parks and/or First Nations reserves.
