Crews at scene of structure fire near Sierra Boulevard and Southridge Drive

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Emergency crews dealt with a structure fire in the area of Sierra Boulevard SW and Southridge Drive SE around 2:40 PM Monday afternoon.

A large portion of the area was temporarily blocked off but Sierra Boulevard is now open in both directions again.

The Medicine Hat Fire Department says the homeowners were not home at the time, but unfortunately, two dogs did succumb to the fire.

The fire is under control and the cause is yet to be determined.

Medicine Hat Fire Department says an investigator is on scene at Sunrise Court.
