Police charge speeder driving 114 km/h on South Ridge Drive

MEDICINE HAT, AB – A young driver will have to appear in court after he was caught going more than 100 km/h in a residential neighbourhood early on May 26.

Medicine Hat police stopped the 16-year-old driver after he was driving 114 km/h on South Ridge Drive. The speed limit on the road is 50 km/h. The driver has been charged with excessive speeding.

Police remind drivers that roads within the city have 50 km/h speed limits unless otherwise posted and that playground zones are in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
