Mar 25, 2020 | 7:00 PM

Medicine Hat, AB–The Real Canadian Superstore is making some changes to it’s in store operations in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Here is what the grocer retailer posted on it’s facebook page regarding the store in Medicine Hat…

Over the past week we have changed a lot in our day to day operations and we want to keep you informed as you may see significant changes while you shop in our store.

We have limited our store capacity. At this time we are limited to a certain amount of customers that are allowed into the store at any one time. With this being said we ask that you be mindful of who you bring to the store with you. Every person counts to our capacity rule, so if at all possible minimize who comes to the store with you so we can all practice social distancing and give the opportunity for everyone and every household to purchase the essentials and be safe while doing so.

Here is a few other things you will see in our store:

-We will no longer sell Lottery effective immediately.

-We will no longer give the cash back option at our lanes.

-Our lane dividers we use at the tills to divide customers groceries on the belt have been removed.

-Our Rug Doctor rental services have been closed.

-We have shut down our tills in our apparel department and have also closed our apparel fitting/change rooms.

-We will not be accepting store returns at this time.(excluding 18L jugs and soda stream canister)

-We have put up Plexi glass at our lanes so we have distance between customers and colleagues.
These will also be installed at our pharmacy and customer service counter.

-We have placed yellow markers that are spaced six feet apart on our floor at our cash lanes, pharmacy, deli, so we can encourage customers to stand behind them and practice social distancing. We do have decals arriving soon.

– We will only open odd or even lanes to ensure distancing from customers and colleagues.

– We have limited our Tobacco shop to only one customer at a time.

– Our Optical department is still open but we are only allowing 2 customers in the department at one time.

-Although our shelves may not be full to capacity and some items still may not be available we are starting to fill back up and we can assure you that our warehouse, transport, and store teams are doing our best to fill our shelves as availability allows.

– We still encourage a Limit of 2 items per household on all essential items.

Lastly,
We thought you should know during this past few months our store has also been under renovation. We understand this may have also caused some disruption to your shopping experience. Although we were not expecting what has transpired with COVID19 we are happy to say that by the end of the week we should be close to have completed our renovation. We will update you further in the coming days with some of the great changes we have made to our store during this time.

Thank you for being great customers and together
