MEDICINE HAT, AB -It’s an unprecedented time these days with the COVID-19 pandemic.

That includes planning for teachers in the province as they design ways to offer programming to students when they’re out of school indefinitely.

The Superintendent of Medicine Hat Catholic School Division Dwayne Zarichny says they continue to update parents as they receive information from the province.

Teachers and staff are also trying to accommodate the needs of all students.

He says their priority is students and making sure their learning continues.

“We as a jurisdiction will be providing several different options. Right now our schools with online platforms that will be able to support learning. We’re also looking at creating some packages to be sent home to parents because everyone’s access to technology does vary.”

Zarichny expects the majority of learning information will start coming out next week, however, some teachers have already touched base with parents and students.

Plans to deliver education are also underway for Prairie Rose School Division and Medicine Hat Public School Division.
