Tigers late comeback falls one goal short, remain winless against Brandon
MEDICINE HAT, AB – One shot separated the Medicine Hat Tigers from an unlikely comeback on Saturday night, but the glove hand of Jiri Patera had other thoughts.
Patera robbed the Tigers of a point with his trapper in the dying seconds to give the Brandon Wheat Kings a 4-3 victory and hold off a furious Medicine Hat comeback late.
Trailing by three goals with less than three minutes left in regulation, the Tigers went into overdrive and pulled within one before Patera made his biggest save of the evening.
