Tkachuk on turtling against Kassian: ‘It was probably the right thing to do’
Edmonton Oilers winger Zack Kassian was set for his day in court Monday with the NHL’s discipline panel, two days after he rag-dolled and slobberknocked a turtling Matthew Tkachuk on national TV.
Kassian skated with the Oilers at Rogers Place Monday but did not speak to media afterwards ahead of his date with league’s Player Safety Department, which could potentially lead to a multigame-suspension for attacking a defenceless player.
Meanwhile in Montreal, Tkachuk, after a pre-game skate with his Calgary Flames teammates, told reporters if he had to do it all over again he would have done the same thing.
“It (not fighting) was probably the right thing to do for me there,” said Tkachcuk.
