Tigers acquire goaltender from Winterhawks

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers have acquired another goaltender.

The team announced Friday afternoon they had received Evan Fradette following a trade with the Portland Winterhawks on Friday. In exchange, the Winterhawks received a conditional eighth round pick in the 2021 Bantam Draft.

Fradette spent the last season with the St. Albert Raiders midget AAA team. He finished the season with a 2.35 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.

Fradette also participated in Mac’s Midget Tournament in Calgary last year, a tournament where the Raiders were victorious. He finished the tournament with a 6-1 record, a .950 save percentage and a 1.68 goals against average.

The Tigers continue their pre-season in Regina on Saturday against the Pats. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
