Irvine man headed to trial on weapons charges
MEDICINE HAT, AB — One of the two Irvine residents arrested in April on firearms charges is heading to trial next year.
Denver Ailsby, 38, had a trial date set for February 8 and 9 in Medicine Hat during his appearance in Medicine Hat provincial court on Tuesday. He has not entered a plea in relation to his charges.
Ailsby, along with 31-year-old Brandalyn Brandham, was arrested April 13 in Irvine following an investigation by Redcliff RCMP and the Medicine Hat Police Service. Police seized 10 firearms, bear spray, boxes of ammunition, four homemade silencers, prohibited magazines and 20 grams of marijuana.
Three of the firearms seized were prohibited due to a modified barrel length.
