Drilling activity continues in southeast Alberta
MEDICINE HAT, AB — Nearly one year after Cenovus sold its assets in southern Alberta, companies are continuing to extract oil and gas from the former properties.
In October 2017, Torxen Energy and Schlumberger announced a partnership to purchase the Palliser block of oil assets from Cenovus for $1.3 billion. The sale officially closed in December.
Brad McFadden, general counsel with Torxen, says the company has primarily been working in areas near Brooks and Drumheller, where the assets are located, and says there are approximately 175 workers in the field.
