Oilmen’s Bonspiel puts a bow on local curling season

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The final rocks have been thrown at the Medicine Hat Curling Club for the 2018-19 season, which wrapped up on Sunday with the final draws of the Medicine Hat Oilmen’s Bonspiel.

In the ‘A’ Division championship, the Elmer & Harold’s Glass team took home the championship over the Baker Hughes rink.

Triple 5 Consulting took home the ‘A’ Division bronze, while Medicine Hat Power Tongs finished fourth on the ‘A’ side.

The ‘B’ Division title was won Sunday by the R3mote.io foursome, who knocked off the F&S Safety Buzz team that claimed silver.

‘B’ bracket bronze went to the Nalco Champion #1 crew, while the Tarpon Energy Services rink finished just off the podium.

Wrapping up the bonspiel champions was the Venom Coiled Tubing Ltd. rink, who earned ‘C’ bracket gold over the Contact Automation Inc. team.

A second bronze medal went to Nalco Champion with their second squad winning their final ‘C’ Division match against the fourth-place Throwin’ Rocks rink.

The Medicine Hat Curling Club will shut its doors on April 1 before their membership blitz will begin later this year in September.
