Ottawa seeking public feedback on proposed passenger bill of rights

May 29, 2018 | 11:54 AM

OTTAWA — The federal government is asking for the public’s input into the proposed passenger bill of rights.

Airline passengers are being asked to weigh in on the criteria for passenger compensation when flights are either delayed, or when people get bumped from their flight by the airline.

Transport Minister Marc Garneau says when Canadians buy an airline ticket, it has to mean something.

Garneau says the passenger bill of rights is a contract for service and it imposes obligations for airlines and the passenger.
