Tigers add players ahead of trade deadline
MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers have bolstered their ranks ahead of the WHL trade deadline next week.
This week, the Tigers acquired goaltender Michael Bullion from the Portland Winterhawks in exchange for a seventh round bantam draft pick. On Thursday, the Tigers traded a fifth round bantam draft pick to the Saskatoon Blades for defenceman Jordan Henderson, who will make his debut for the Tigers during Saturday’s home game against the Vancouver Giants.
“It was something that we were looking at, adding some depth, adding some experience,” said head coach and general manager Shaun Clouston. “Now, getting close to the stretch drive, we felt we needed a one-two punch with the goaltending situation… With the defencemen, we have a lot of guys in their first year of hockey at this level.
“Jordan Henderson has played three years, he has some playoffs game in, and we believe that experience will help.”
