Sun Devils try to get back on track with weekend set at home

Jun 3, 2017 | 1:49 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Sun Devils (3-7) will be looking to turn their season around this weekend, with a pair of big games on tap at the Kinplex.

After starting the 2017 campaign with a 3-2 record, the Sun Devils have spiralled as of late with five consecutive losses and have not won a game since April 30.

First up will be a game against their divisional rivals in the Calgary Wranglers (6-2) on Saturday, in what will be their second meeting of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League season.

Medicine Hat dropped their first game against the Wranglers 12-9 on May 7 in Calgary, with Connor Christensen, Kyler Dyck, Nolan Johnston, and Noah Yarmchuk all picking up hat-tricks for the Wranglers.

That game will get underway from the Stampede Grounds at 5:30 pm on Saturday.

Following that tilt, the Sun Devils get ready for a matinee matchup against the Olds Mavericks (10-1) on Sunday.

Medicine Hat and Olds have not yet met this season, but the Sun Devils will have their hands full as the Mavericks have only lost one game all year.

Game time for Sunday’s battle between the Sun Devils and Mavericks is set for 2:00 pm.
