Monarchs win shortened game in Lethbridge, Knights drop two straight
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Rain threatened to derail the Medicine Hat ‘AA’ Moose Monarchs on Saturday, but they pulled out a win in five innings at the Mary Oikawa Memorial Tournament.
Medicine Hat picked up a 3-2 victory over the Calgary Junior Dinos before the sky opened up, while the rest of Saturday’s games at the tournament were cancelled due to rain.
Tyran George opened the scoring in the second inning with a sacrifice fly that cashed Ethan Loran to put the Monarchs up 1-0.
Calgary fought back however, scoring a pair of runs with the bases loaded in the bottom half of the inning to take their first lead of the game.
