Janick Lacroix earns national junior boxing gold in Edmonton

EDMONTON, AB – A lifelong dream realized for local boxer Janick Lacroix, who can finally call himself a national junior champion.

Lacroix, who fights out of the Medicine Hat Boxing Club, defeated Saskatchewan’s Thomas Gordon by unanimous decision in the gold medal bout of the 70 kilogram division at the 2018 Super Channel National Championships.

It’s the first light-middleweight Canadian junior title for Lacroix, who lost in the gold medal final last year to Quebec’s Christopher Guerrero.
