Hearing date set in workplace death case
MEDICINE HAT, AB —A hearing date has now been scheduled for a contractor charged following a death at CF Industries in 2015.
Aluma Systems appearing in Medicine Hat provincial court on Friday, where a hearing was set for April 13, also at provincial court.
The organization is facing five charges under the Occupational Health and Safety Act in connection with the fatality which took place the CF Industries plant on December 7, 2015 as a result of an ammonia leak.
Two workers were doing some work on an ammonia tank at CF Industries, when a mobile lift allegedly struck a valve on the tank, which released ammonia.
