Tigers topple ‘Tips 5-2, extend win streak to four

Nov 7, 2026 | 12:13 AM

Luke Cozens found the back of the net twice, including the eventual game-winner, as the Medicine Hat Tigers took down the reigning WHL Champion Everett Silvertips 5-2.

The Tigers came out of the gate hot, striking three times in the opening frame with goals from Arvid Drott, Markus Ruck, and Cozens first of the night on a powerplay.

The Ruck goal came shorthanded for his sixth goal of the season and the Tigers third shorthanded goal as a team this season.

Everett’s Jaxsin Vaughn would respond with a powerplay goal less than a minute later to cut the lead back to two.

After a scoreless second period, Cozens would grant the Tigers their second three-goal lead of the game, slipping a wrist shot five-hole on Bennett Byers to make it 4-1.

Even then, the ‘Tips wouldn’t go away, and Dario Blengino would shrink the deficit to two minutes later.

Josh Evaschesen would put the game away for the Tigers 72 seconds later, finishing off a pretty passing play.

Cash Christie made 29 saves en route to the win.

The win moves the Tigers to 10-5-0-1 on the season and improves their record to 4-1-0-0 on their U.S. Division road trip, which concludes tomorrow night against the Seattle Thunderbirds.
