War Amps program helps young amputee stay active and connected
For 12-year-old Maddux Kerr, staying active means having the right equipment, family support and people who understand his experiences.
Born a double-leg amputee, Maddux was enrolled in The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program when he was just seven months old.
The program has helped provide financial assistance for his artificial limbs and adaptive devices, along with opportunities to connect with other young amputees.
For his parents, Jessica and Allan Kerr, that sense of connection has been just as important as the practical support.
