A four-goal first period helped lift the Medicine Hat Tigers to a 5-1 win over the Tri-City Americans.

Josh Evaschesen and Arvid Drott scored ten seconds apart midway through the first period to give the Tigers an early two-goal lead.

Seven minutes later Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll and Markus Ruck scored eight seconds apart to give the Tabbies a 4-0 lead into the intermission.

Penalty woes would slow down the Tiger offence in the final forty minutes as they headed to the box seven times in the win.

The lone Americans goal came on a 5-on-3 power play off the stick of Dylan LeBret who made it 4-1 early in the second period.

Kadon McCann would score the final tally two minutes into the third period to restore the four-goal lead and secure the Tigers a 5-1 win.

Medicine Hat improved to 2-1-0-0 on their U.S road trip and will now enjoy some time off before resuming the trip Wednesday night against the Portland Winterhawks.
