Oct 29, 2026 | 8:47 AM

The Brooks RCMP has advised residents to expect an increased police presence around the former Brooks Junior High School on Thursday.

RCMP Emergency Response Team members will be conducting training exercises in and around the building on Oct. 29.

Police say residents may see police vehicles, drones, officers and police service dogs taking part in the exercises.

Residents may also hear loud noises in the area.

Mounties said the activity is planned training and is not related to an emergency or public safety incident. There is no danger to the public.

Police thanked the Grasslands School Division for allowing members to use the former school building for portions of the training before it is demolished.

The RCMP is asking for public understanding and co-operationwhile the exercises are underway.
