Applications are now open for the 2027 Canada Summer Jobs program, offering wage subsidies to eligible employers hiring young people for summer positions.

The federal program supports work opportunities for people aged 15 to 30, helping them gain skills and experience while earning money for education and living expenses. Job placements are expected to begin in April 2027.

Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and private businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees that have been operating for at least two years.

Medicine Hat–Cardston–Warner MP Glen Motz has identified support for not-for-profit organizations, small businesses, municipal activities, agriculture and skilled trades as local priorities for the program.

National priorities include jobs offering experience in construction, environmental and climate-related work, digital skills and artificial intelligence, as well as positions with not-for-profit organizations serving underserved and equity-deserving communities.

“I encourage not-for-profit organizations and eligible employers across Medicine Hat–Cardston–Warner to apply for CSJ funding,” Motz said in a statement.

“Together, we can empower our young people to build their skills, gain valuable work experience, and take meaningful steps toward a successful future.”

Employer applications are being accepted until Dec. 3, 2026.

More information and application details are available through the Canada Summer Jobs applicant guide or by calling 1-800-935-5555.
