Tigers fall 6-1 to Pats, extending losing streak to three

Oct 16, 2026 | 10:31 PM

It was a different day, but the same result for the Medicine Hat Tigers, who suffered a 6-1 defeat for the second straight game, falling to the Regina Pats.

Like last Saturday’s 6-1 loss to Victoria, the Tigers allowed five unanswered goals to close out the night after Luke Cozens tied the game at one.

Regina saw two goal outings from Cohen Klassen who scored the opening two goals for the Pats, and Liam Pue, who added both of his on the power play.

Zach Lansard and Matthis Paull also added singles in the win.

Pats netminder Taylor Tabashniuk was stellar, earning the game’s first star, turning aside 35 Tiger shots in the win.

It marks the third straight game the Tigers have ‘got goalied’, in a sense, with each of the last three netminders they’ve faced earning stars in their clubs’ respective wins.

Carter Casey was pulled from the net early in the first period after allowing three goals on Regina’s opening eight shots.

Cash Christie played the final 49:54 in relief, making 19 saves on 22 shots.

The Medicine Hat power play went zero for four in the loss and has not converted on their last 18 man-advantages, while their penalty kill operated at 50% for the second straight game.

The Tigers hit several posts in the loss, and Tabashniuk made several sprawling saves in the win for the Pats.

Medicine Hat continues their three-game road trip tomorrow night against the Brandon Wheat Kings.
