Tigers encounter special team woes, fall 6-1 to Royals

The Medicine Hat Tigers allowed five unanswered goals while going without a goal on eight powerplay chances in a 6-1 defeat to the Victoria Royals.

Victoria went three for four on the man-advantage to start the game and ended four for eight with the extra man in the game.

Luke Cozens scored the Tigers lone goal with ten seconds remaining in the first period to tie the game at one.

Drayden Urihna found the back of the net twice for Victoria while Ludovic Perreault, Savin Virk, Caleb Matthews and Filip Novak each added singles.

Carter Casey allowed six goals on 28 Victoria shots but was not at fault in the loss.

Royals netminder Cole Prelusky was stellar, making 35 saves in the 6-1 win.

Victoria continues their Central division road-trip Monday afternoon in Calgary.

The Medicine Hat Tigers now begin a stretch where they play nine of ten games away from Co-op Place, beginning next Friday, October 16th against the Regina Pats.
