Medicine Hat’s MacKenzie Porter wins 2026 CCMA Award with her husband

Medicine Hat’s MacKenzie Porter brought home some hardware from the 2026 Canadian Country Music Awards in Saskatoon on Saturday.

This time, she did so as part of a duo with her husband Jake Etheridge.

The pair, who perform as Thelma & James, won Video of the Year for their song Parking Lot Prayers.

The couple began Thelma & James in early 2025.

Porter had previously won Female Artist of the Year in 2024 and 2025. She also won Video of the Year in 2024 for her song Chasing Tornadoes.

In 2023, she won Musical Collaboration of the Year for the song One Too with Dallas Smith.
