Rain expected to end Tuesday afternoon

Update: Yellow Alert for Rainfall lifted, except for Milk River region

Update:

Environment & Climate Change Canada has ended the Yellow Alert for Rainfall for all areas in our region, except for the Milk River area.

The latest forecast is for another 5 mm of rain before ending Tuesday afternoon with possible showers on Wednesday.

Up to 10 mm is expected Tuesday in the Milk River area.

Environment & Climate Change Canada has issued a Yellow Alert for Rainfall for Greater Lethbridge and a large section of southern Alberta.

“Heavy rainfall will continue, with total amounts of 40 to 70 mm expected,” said an updated weather statement late Monday morning. Rainfall will end on Tuesday.”

The weather agency warned that water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas and the potential for washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

The alert also covers the communities of Crowsnest Pass, Pincher Creek, Brocket, Cardston, Taber, Vauxhall, and Milk River.

The Waterton Lakes National Park is also expecting heavy rain by end of day Tuesday.
