Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede kicks off on Wednesday

The West Coast Amusement midway opens at noon and runs until the clock strikes midnight, as it will each night through Saturday.

Daily ride passes are available for $55. Pre-sales for the $45 passes ended by 11 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21. They can be purchased online or at South Country Co-op locations in the Medicine Hat area.

The fire event of the day to watch is the Prairie Dogs at the grass areas east of the Stampede Office starting at 12:30 p.m.

The petting zoo opens at 1 p.m. at the South Country Co-op Pioneer Village Southeast Corner.

A High Dive Act is underway at 1:15 p.m. on the South Free Stage.

Several other events will continue through the day.

The night show on Wednesday has Canadian rock icon Tom Cochrane taking the stage with Barney Bentall opening up at the Stampede Grandstand. The show begins at 8 p.m.

Tickets are available online through the Medicine Hat Stampede. They are $90 for the infield and $80 for a reserved seat. They also include free admission to the Stampede Grounds on Wednesday if shown at the gate.

If you plan on also going to the Saturday night show with Johnny Reid and Morgan Klaiber, ticket packages are also available.

Package tickets cost $165 for the infield or $145 for reserved seats.
