Local Lions clubs and international foundation provide $134K for Medicine Hat hospital services
A group of Lions clubs and the Lions Clubs International Foundation are donating $134,415.27 to support patient care at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, with the funding helping purchase new electric beds for 5 North’s inpatient psychiatric unit and cataract stretchers for Ophthalmology.
The Medicine Hat Health Foundation announced the gift on Tuesday, which will support 5 North (Inpatient Psychiatric Unit) and Ophthalmology at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.
Both units are operated by Recovery Alberta and Alberta Health Services.
The donation includes two parts: a collective contribution from the Medicine Hat Lions Club, Medicine Hat Community View Lions Club, Redcliff Lions Club, and Irvine and District Lions Club, along with a matching donation from the Lions Clubs International Foundation.
