Medicine Hat City Council to hold a public hearing on land change, and decide on the donation of other land
Medicine Hat City Council will consider a land reserve bylaw, a petition opposing coal-related activity that could affect watersheds, and a proposal to donate city-owned land for an affordable housing project when it meets Monday.
Council will hold a public hearing on Bylaw 4888-2026, which would remove the municipal reserve designation from a portion of land to allow for its sale while redesignating another nearby parcel as a municipal reserve.
A portion of land west of the Patterson Armoury – South Alberta Light Horse Regiment building in Medicine Hat is being recommended to have its designation changed to allow for the sale of the property.
A portion of land north of this would also be designated as municipal reserve.
