The British Columbia Hockey League has announced the winners of the Kyle Turris Community Award for the Interior Conference.

It is awarded to players who go above and beyond in their community. Each BCHL team submits a winner from their organization, along with the reasons they were chosen.

The winner for the Brooks Bandits is captain Dante Siciliano.

“Dante has been an outstanding leader on the ice and in the community. The captain has been a great ambassador for the team during many visits to local schools over his two seasons with the team,” a statement from the Bandits read.

“He has also participated in numerous community events and is always the first to sign autographs and give time to fans.”

The 20-year-old defenceman from Whitby, Ont., concluded his junior hockey career with back-to-back BCHL titles with the Bandits in 2025 and 2026.

He is committed to playing NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Maine Black Bears in the fall.

A full list of winners can be found on the BCHL website.
