Alberta’s Minister of Technology and Innovation, Nate Glubish, is set to travel to Paris, France, from June 16-19, to showcase the province’s role in artificial intelligence.

For four days, Glubish will join tech leaders, major companies, public institutions and investors at VivaTech 2026.

While there, he will hold a bilateral meeting with Ms. Dorothée Bär, German federal minister for Research, Technology and Space, to explore opportunities for transatlantic collaboration in digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence.

He will also give a keynote speech focusing on how Alberta is becoming, what the government calls, the preferred destination for AI data centres in North America

“No government in Canada has adopted AI faster than Alberta. We have saved tens of millions of dollars, and our services are getting better, faster and smarter because of it,” Glubish said. “Now we are building on that lead: Amii gives us world-class research capacity, and our push to become the computing capital of Canada will put state-of-the-art, sovereign AI infrastructure within reach of every government, academic, business and citizen. That is the Alberta story, and I am taking it to the world stage at VivaTech.”

In addition, the Minister will discuss how Alberta is leading Canada in AI adoption in the public service and highlight case studies where Alberta has saved tens of millions of taxpayer dollars with AI tools and technologies.
