VANCOUVER — Canada is back on the training pitch today ahead of its next World Cup match.

The Canadian men take on Qatar at BC Place Stadium on Thursday after opening the tournament with a 1-1 draw against Bosnia-Herzegovina last Friday in Toronto.

Qatar surprised favoured Switzerland with a 1-1 draw Saturday, leaving all four teams tied in Group B after the first round of group-stage games.

Canada’s training base during the World Cup is the Whitecaps FC National Soccer Development Centre at the University of British Columbia.

A portion of today’s session is open to the media after Canada practised behind closed doors Sunday.

All eyes remain on the status of captain Alphonso Davies, who missed Canada’s opening match as he continues to work his way back from a hamstring injury.
