Motorcyclist taken to hospital after crash on Trans-Canada Highway near Redcliff

Jun 9, 2026 | 2:44 PM

A motorcyclist has been hospitalized with serious injuries following a single-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway near Redcliff in the evening on Monday.

Members of the Medicine Hat Police Service and emergency crews responded to the crash in the eastbound lanes of the highway at about 6:01 p.m. on June 8.

Police said the rider was travelling eastbound when they lost control of the motorcycle and entered the ditch separating the eastbound and westbound lanes.

Reports say the motorcycle continued through the ditch for approximately 350 feet before coming to a stop.

The rider sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment, as investigators believe speed may have been a contributing factor, as no other vehicles were involved in the collision.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Medicine Hat Police Service.
