Three individuals inducted into Medicine Hat Sports Wall of Fame on Sunday
The 2026 Sports Wall of Fame induction ceremony at the Big Marble Go Centre on Sunday added three new members.
Robert Grisonich, Wade Peterson, and Wes King-Hunter had their plaques added to the wall and were honoured at the event.
Grisonich was recognized for long‑standing contributions to volleyball and basketball. His involvement in school athletics coincided with his teaching career from 1980 until 2014. Grisonich has also chaired and organized numerous provincial and national sporting events in Medicine Hat and is helping plan for the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games.
Peterson is well known for his lifelong contributions to boxing. His boxing career initially spanned from 1979 to 1986, before he returned to the ring in 2017 at the age of 51. Peterson won multiple provincial titles and captured a Golden Gloves Belt. He continues to coach at the Medicine Hat Boxing and Fitness Club.
