Maple Creek airport will receive over $43K in provincial funding as part of upgrade program
The Town of Maple Creek will receive $43,655 this construction season for maintenance work at its local airport as part of a province-wide push to upgrade community air infrastructure.
The funding, announced on Wednesday under Saskatchewan’s Community Airport Partnership program, will go toward maintenance at the Maple Creek airport, with costs split 50/50 between the province and approved recipients.
Across Saskatchewan, over $2 million in airport improvements will be delivered at nine community and regional airports during the 2026 construction season.
Highways Minister Kim Gartner said air ambulances, firefighting and policing services, along with agriculture and other sectors, rely on local airports, adding the upgrades reflect a commitment to strengthening those services and “Protect Saskatchewan.”
