Final design for new ‘Welcome to Alberta’ signs unveiled
We now know how the newly redesigned ‘Welcome to Alberta’ signs will look, and what they’ll say.
The Government of Alberta unveiled the design Wednesday, with the signs also bearing the message ‘Strong and Free.’
It was announced in April that the signs would actually be shaped like the province, but that isn’t coming to fruition, and the province hasn’t addressed why that changed. Transportation Minister Devin Dreeshen also said at the time it was too soon to tell what the signs would say.
‘Strong and Free,’ which the government has stated is a nod to our national anthem, was also announced last fall as the new slogan that will appear on Alberta licence plates.
