Bandits in Nanaimo for pair of games against the Clippers after weekend split in Brooks

The Clippers would strike again, just 38 seconds into the third period, on a goal from Hayden Fechner to give them a 2-1 lead.

They later secured the victory with an empty net goal from Tanner Bruender.

Clippers netminder Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau stopped 31 of 32 shots faced in the contest, with Zach Zahara turning aside 34 of 36 for the Bandits.

Game two was another close contest. It was decided in double overtime and spanned four and a half hours.

The Bandits would jump out to a lead at the 14:13 mark of the first period on a goal from Mathis Dufour. Assists went to Harijs Cjunckis and Isaac Johnson.

Not long after, the Clippers would tie things up 17:03 in the period on the power play. Tanner Bruender scored his eighth of the playoffs and second of the series.

That 1-1 tie would hold until the 12:51 mark of the second overtime, when Rylan Hue scored his first of the playoffs to give the Bandits the win. Dmitrijs Dilevka picked up the lone assist on the game-winner.

Both teams had a hard time solving the netminders throughout much of the contest. Zach Zahara made 39 saves for the Bandits, and Eliot Seguin-Lescarbeau turned aside 49 for the Clippers.

After the pair of games in Nanaimo, the teams will return to the Centennial Regional Arena in Brooks next Friday for game five.
