Medicine Hat police charge man after propane tank explosion incident

The Medicine Hat Police Service has charged a 38-year-old Medicine Hat man following an incident involving propane tanks outside a business in the 600 block of Kingsway Avenue SE.

Police said officers responded to a report at about 10 p.m. on May 11 that an item had been thrown at propane tanks outside the business, causing a small explosion.

No property damage was reported, and EMS treated people at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.

Following an investigation, Shaylon Witts of Medicine Hat has been charged with using explosives, making or possessing an explosive substance and disobeying a court order.
