Medicine Hat CORE housing project part of $323M affordable housing investment from governments
The federal and Alberta governments are investing more than $323 million toward affordable housing projects across the province, including a new accessible housing development in Medicine Hat.
The funding, announced on Wednesday through Alberta’s Affordable Housing Partnership Program, will support the construction of more than 3,600 housing units and more than 70 shelter spaces across 41 projects in Alberta.
Among the approved projects is just under $521,000 for the Clients Ongoing Rehabilitation and Equality (CORE) Association, to build a sensory-friendly home in Medicine Hat.
CORE is a non-profit organization that provides housing, support services and community programs for people with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries.
