Medicine Hat rents remain among Canada’s most affordable, even with increases seen
The asking rents across Canada continued to decline in April, and Medicine Hat remained one of the country’s most affordable rental markets according to new data from Rentals.ca and Urbanation.
Nationally, the average asking rent fell 4.7 per cent year-over-year to $2,027 in April, the 19th consecutive month of annual declines.
In Medicine Hat, however, average asking rents for purpose-built and condominium apartments rose 3.5 per cent from a year earlier to $1,397.
This places the city among the strongest-performing rental markets outside Canada’s six largest metro areas.
