Two Medicine Hat men have been charged after the Medicine Hat Police Service responded to a report of a stolen truck and trailer in the 1000 block of Ross Glen Drive SE at about 8:49 a.m. on May 6.

The stolen items included a 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 and a Mirage trailer.

Officers reviewed surveillance footage during the investigation, helping identify the suspect vehicle and one of the individuals believed to be involved.

Police later located the suspect vehicle and arrested the adult male driver, while a second adult man was arrested in the downtown area later that day in connection with the investigation.

As a result, 47-year-old Ryan Bowden, of Medicine Hat, is charged with theft over $5,000 and possession of a controlled substance.

Bowden was held for a judicial interim release hearing before being released on a release order, and is scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on May 21.

The second accused, Gilbert Monte, 48, of Medicine Hat, is charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000 and was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on June 30, 2026.
