Update: Medicine Hat emergency crews respond to grass fire

Emergency crews responded to a grass fire in the area of Saamis Drive NW in Medicine Hat, near The Link Church and Sun City Ford.

The fire has since been contained, and roads in the area have been reopened.

Earlier, police had set up roadblocks at 3 Street and Saamis Drive NW, as well as near the condominiums at 1648 Saamis Dr NW, and had asked the public to avoid the area to allow emergency crews room to work.

Residents were also advised to follow directions from police and flag personnel.
