FlixBus expanding services in western Canada including Medicine Hat

Apr 29, 2026 | 1:45 PM

Additional travel destinations will be available for those travelling by FlixBus in Medicine Hat starting on May 7.

The transportation company announced new and expanded service on Wednesday.

FlixBus launched in Medicine Hat on April 17, 2025, with a route connecting Medicine Hat to Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton.

The group will now expand connectivity from Medicine Hat with a route that includes new stops in Lethbridge, Swift Current and Moose Jaw.

The expanded route in Alberta will begin in Calgary with a connection in Lethbridge before reaching Medicine Hat. It will continue to make stops in Saskatchewan at Swift Current and then Moose Jaw before arriving in Regina.

A new service will then be available for those who want to continue to Manitoba from Regina. That route will have a stop in Brandon before ending in Winnipeg.

A release from FlixBus says the expansion of its Western Canada presence creates more affordable and convenient travel options across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

FlixBus has continued to expand in Canada and stated its long-term vision is to strengthen links between regions across the country.

The Medicine Hat bus stop is at the downtown bus terminal and parkade at 361 Sixth Ave. SE.

In Lethbridge, the bus stop is at the Park N’ Ride Bus terminal located at 705 Fifth Ave. S.

New communities added in this expansion will have the following bus stop locations:

  • Swift Current, SK – 1 Springs Dr.
  • Moose Jaw, SK – 1235 Main St. N.
  • Brandon, MB – 1059 Middleton Ave.
  • Winnipeg, MB – 35 Vermillion Rd.

With the new launch, the transportation provider says Regina will serve as an important hub for the FlixBus network, linking westbound and eastbound service across the Prairies.

“The addition of these new routes is another step in delivering our vision of linking communities from east to west through affordable and dependable transportation,” Flix North America head of communications Karina Frayter said.

“This launch reflects the growing demand we’re seeing for intercity bus travel as Canadians look for practical alternatives to rising travel costs and more flexibility in how they travel,” she added.

“Expanding our service across the Prairies gives more people access to convenient and budget-friendly travel options, making it easier than ever to visit family and friends, get to work or school, or take a vacation without the need to fly or drive.”

FlixBus also offers online booking, real-time bus tracking, free Wi-Fi, and a complimentary luggage allowance.

The bus service will operate six days a week, excluding Wednesday.
