Brooks RCMP have reopened one lane of Highway 1

One lane of westbound traffic has reopened on Highway 1 near Range Road 155 following a collision that brought traffic to a standstill early on Friday, according to Brooks RCMP.

Police said delays are still expected in the area and are urging motorists to slow down and follow directions from emergency crews on scene.

The RCMP also warned of hazardous driving conditions across the region, citing ongoing snowfall, blowing snow and significantly reduced visibility.

Mounties are advising drivers to avoid non-essential travel, reduce speed, increase following distance and ensure headlights are on.
