Steel helps Stars with 10th straight by burning Flames 6-1
CALGARY — Sam Steel scored twice and added an assist as the Dallas Stars extended their franchise-record winning streak to 10 games with a 6-1 rout of the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.
Jamie Benn, Mavrik Bourque, Nathan Bastian and Wyatt Johnston also scored for Dallas (38-14-9). Matt Duchene chipped in with four assists giving him a team-best 17 points (eight goals, nine assists) during the winning streak.
Steel and Duchene both tied career-highs for points in a game. Steel’s 10 goals also ties a career-high. The 2016 first-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks also scored 10 times for the Minnesota Wild in 2022-23.
Owner of the NHL’s second-best record, the Stars began the night six points back of their division-rival Colorado Avalanche.
